5 months of Trey

I am amazed at how many milestones happen each month with a baby. It's so fun to be able to watch them think things out and process what is going on around them!

This month Trey learned how to sit up by himself. We were both pretty excited about it! I think he was getting so bored of laying down all the time, but wasn't strong enough to hold himself up. I'm so glad he's figured it out, and am excited for the independence this will bring for him, and hopefully a few minutes of free hands for me!

 

We've had a streak of good weather and we are not letting it go to waste! I've been so anxious to get Trey outside since he's spent most of his life indoors. It's been fun to watch him explore the grass and leaves, and feel the sun on his face (and in his eyes).

 

 

Trey's new thing is to stick his tongue out every time he smiles. I have no idea how this started but it is so funny and so cute!

 

 

This month we also went to Reno to visit my family! As always we had a great time!

Ty and Trey continue to be best friends. I'm so glad!

 

 

Trey's other best friend is a rat that my aunt crocheted for him. He loves it so much! We named it Rataghast, and the other day Trey fell asleep holding his tail. So cute! I just hope he doesn't grow up to actually like rats!

 

 

We sure love this boy.

 

 

Disneyland

My MIL turned sixty this year, so to celebrate we took a girls trip to Disneyland (and Trey tagged along)! I was really nervous about flying with Trey by myself, but he did great. He was really such a trooper the whole weekend!

 

 

 

The trip was a lot of fun. We were there 2 days and had park hoppers, so we did a little bit of everything! I was so excited about Cars Land, I had heard a lot of awesome things about it and it did not disappoint! so cute. I can't wait to take Trey back when he is older.

 

 

 

I was pleasantly surprised at how many rides I could take Trey on with me, and even more surprised that he slept through most of them!

 

One of my sisters in law commented on how comfortable I seemed with nursing Trey in public and I had to laugh because I was so NOT comfortable at all! It was funny to have to do all of the things I usually do with Trey but with a million people around. A good learning experience for me!

 

It was so fun to spend time with Ty's sisters, and I think Trey loved being around his aunts too!

 

 

Another girl's trip soon, yes?

4 Months

We lost even more hair this month. It's so funny, I feel like he doesn't even look like the same baby anymore!

This month Trey has really started grabbing everything, and even shaking his toys while he's holding them. We hung a little wooden bar from the ceiling and we hang things from it with a ribbon for him to grab. His favorites are a wooden teething ring and a big white bell.

 

 

He also really loves books and bath time. I'm amazed at how long we can keep his attention with a book. He really seems to be looking at the pages and be interested in the pictures! His current favorite books are Olivia Counts and Freight Train. And lately he's started wanting to hold the books by himself. So independent!

 

 

And because he's so into grabbing everything, bath time has become a bit of a challenge. Every time I try to pour water on him he reaches for the cup I'm using and wants to pour it himself or put the cup in his mouth. Such a little character!

 

 

At 4 months Trey learned to roll from his back to his belly!! Woohoo!

 

 

This month he has also found his voice. He often squeals and is entertained by all the noises he can make! I am loving just being an observer as he discovers new things he can do and also explores the world around him! At 4 months Trey weighs 14lbs 10oz and is 25 1/4 inches long. The sweetest boy around!

 

Baby Trey: 3 months

This baby just gets better and better. This month has been full of smiles! It is the best when all I do is smile at him and he smiles right back! I just love him.

 

 

 

 

We've also lost a lot of hair this month...

 

haha! I sent this picture to mom and she said "He looks like a Lamanite ready to go to war!" Too funny. I miss his head full of hair! Please bless that it will grow back soon!

 

This month Trey learned how to hold his own toys! It's been very exciting. He's had a lot of fun discovering all the different things he can grab, and it's been nice for me that he can entertain himself for a few minutes so I can get things done! He has also started sucking/chewing on his hands. All the time. We're getting drool on everything over here.

 

 

 

 

The other day we were in the car and I gave Trey his toy. He was playing happily, and after a few minutes I looked over at him, and he had fallen asleep holding his toy! So cute.

 



 

For some reason he has also stopped sleeping through the night. He's been waking up about every 3 hours to eat and it's killing me. I'm really hoping that it's just a phase. hopefully a growth spurt or something that will end soon so we can all start sleeping again! Trey is not a big fan of the car, but is happy as long as someone is sitting next to him in the back, usually holding his hand. He loves looking at books and looking in the mirror. We have also recently started putting him in the bumbo and in his little bouncy seat. He is getting so bored of laying down, we are all so anxious for him to sit up by himself! We'll keep working on it.

 

 

 

Trey sure loves his daddy. It is so awesome that whenever Ty comes home Trey is so happy to see him and gets very excited. I love that they have such a sweet relationship, and I know it will only get better.
